ZedaSoft® completes Modular Cockpit Upgrade to the FAA Advanced General Aviation Research Simulator(Fort Worth, Texas – April 29, 2011) ZedaSoft, Inc., a simulation and visualization software and hardware company announces the completion of its contract to upgrade the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) Advanced General Aviation Research Simulator (AGARS) to a modular cockpit system.
As a part of the instrument panel upgrade a new I/O interface system was integrated to drive and receive the signals for the new bezel switches and instrument knobs. The new I/O system is built around the United Electronics Industries Ethernet-DAQ system (see http://www.ueidaq.com/data-acquisition-chassis/ethernet-daq ) a robust I/O system used by many simulation companies including Flight Safety. This system provides the most flexible COTS data acquisition and control system available and will provide a great foundation for expansion in the future. ZedaSoft built this modular upgrade on the CBA® for Simulation software foundation implemented in early 2008 which provides an effective bridge to a modern Java-based architecture. “We welcome this opportunity to continue to prove the flexibility and extensibility of our CBA for Simulation framework to support the FAA’s cockpit research experiments,” said G.W. Estep, president of ZedaSoft, Inc.
